Range day today

Off this morning to get some trigger time. Enjoy some long guns including the surplus Mosin Nagant I recently acquired.  I have a couple others that need the dust blown out of them also. I need to get a match in and will in the next week.

In the mean time I see progress in ending the "Cold War" have taken steps backwards

Also be very careful out there I see some new technology is being used to lure us into sniper range

Today's special

Well, I have poured over the stats and the horses for this Saturdays "Run for the Roses". Here is the way I see it. These are my hunches made by past performances of all involved trainer Jockey and horse.  The weather could be and a sloppy track could change all.  WARNING* As in all investments  some risk is involved.

Gemologist                                        7-1  Won the Wood Memorial

Dullahan   If I calculated correctly      7-5  Won at the Bluegrass  Dale Romans Trainer

Take Charge Indy                             5-1  Beat the Favorite at the Florida derby ( I really like this horse but am worried the distance won't be kind to it)

Bodemeister      current favorite         9-2   Won the Arkansas I normally like the horses winning the Arkansas Derby. I am not convinced this is a Derby winner.

LONG-SHOT.. This is the one I think, I am banking on for gas Money Home and got a $2 ready to go.
Done Talking      the Maryland Horse trained by Hamilton Smith   currently at 50-1

Now where are those Mint Juleps?

The weekend

For most this is the last day of their weekend. It's is my first workday. So before I leave I will set the guards around the homestead, to keep a watchful eye. Ya'll be safe today.

I feel safer now....don't you?

From Richmond

I see Kyle Busch takes a 4th race at Richmond last night. Breaking a tie with "the King" Richard Petty, 1971 to 1973. Kyle beat out Stewart and and Edwards. Sneaking past Edwards after a pit on a Yellow. Congratulations to Kyle Busch and the Joe Gibbs racing team, it's been a dry spell for you.

It's range day, still early yet and I need to decide what I want to take with me. Any help from the peanut gallery?

Ya'll have a safe day

from the AP

WASHINGTON — A House Committee is preparing a contempt citation against Attorney General Eric Holder in a dispute over access to documents from a flawed gun-tracking operation.
An official of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee said a final decision on issuing the citation has not been made. The official, who was not authorized to be quoted by name, said the citation could be avoided if the Justice Department changes its stand and produces documents sought by the committee.
The committee has subpoenaed nearly two dozen categories of documents on the Fast and Furious operation, but no documents have been produced from a dozen of those categories.
In Fast and Furious, U.S. agents hoping to track weapons allowed hundreds of guns to flow from U.S. gun shops in Arizona into Mexico.

Contempt wouldn't be the only charge I'd prepare for Mr Holder. Reckless endangerment might be another.

Sunny sunny sunny day

Woke up to clear skies this morning and the day off.   What to do?  Got some outdoor projects planned, which also includes girl watching. Then of course I can do that indoors also. Besides the weekly yard work I have a gun project I have been wanting to get going on, Start on my first surplus weapon. One I picked up last week at the gun-show. If all goes well I'll be at the range later today. If not there's always tomorrow.

Then I can leave here with out posting a couple of gun toting honeys

Remember shoot and drink responsibily
