From the Tool Bench

I've had a Surplus rifle project keeping me busy and neglecting the Candy Store here. I had bought a Surplus Mosin Nagant 91/30  a month or so ago. Yesterday I stripped it down and Glassed the action. Today I will pull it back apart and place some cork in the end of the stock. Then hopefully out to the range again later in the week. I first started this Blog I had intentions on making some videos and photographing some projects. My main range is opened through early spring then shuts down till fall. I am in the process of joining a Gun Club where I'll have better access to shooting. Then hope to get back on track with my guns and toys. I see that I am getting some interest in this BLOG and I want to thank everyone that visits. Please check back often and like the Twitter button.

Jimmie Johnson wins at Charlotte

Jimmie Johnson wins another for the Hendricks team.Using a start strong finish stronger strategy.  Finishing up a great week for him and $1mil more in the Teams checkbook. Leading only in 16 laps behind both Keselowski and Earnhardt Jr.and tying with Hamlin. This makes JJ's third "All Star" win placing him in the same book with Dale Earnhardt and Jeff Gordon.  Congratulations to the JJ and the Hendricks Team.

Great action at Pimlico

It was a fine running of horses there at Pimico. If I could had my first three in the right order.  I just watched the replay from the overhead cam. "I'll have another", exploded in the last 1/8 like it was outfitted with Nitro.

from Daily Racing Form

Just like he did in the Kentucky Derby, I'll Have Another ran down Bodemeister in the late stages of Saturday’s $1 million Preakness Stakes at Pimlico and is now in position to become the first horse since Affirmed to sweep the Triple Crown should he win the Belmont Stakes at Belmont Park on June 9.

I'LL HAVE ANOTHER Gutierrez M $8.40 $3.80 $2.80
BODEMEISTER Smith M.   $3.20 $2.80

Race day

The running of the Preakness and NASCAR's  "All Star" race from Charlotte.  A day packed with left turns. While Kurt Busch continues squaring off with Ryan Newman. Kyle Busch take the pole at the "All Star". Tonight on SPEED channel 9pm E.S.T.  As Big Jim said, (in another forum) It's "Bring home the steering wheel, take no prisoners, it's wreckers or checkers".  This no points race should be interesting.
The 137th running of the Preakness at Pimilco set for today. With "Tiger Walk" (by Tale of the Cat) in Gate #1, with a Jockey change after Kent Desormeaux failed a breathalyzer test.over a incident at Belmont on Friday. The long shot "Tiger Walk" will be rode by Ramon Dominguez. Dust off the big hats get your endless mug and head to the infield. At the current time "Bodemeister" is still the favorite to win and has track odds of 8 to 5.

Anna Chapman display

Today marks the day the Sexy Spy Anna Chapman's spy tools go on display in the Discovery Time Square Included are her laptop and a Chanel  handbag with Wi-Fi capabilities. Which reportedly cost $2800.  Maxim magazine has done a powerful job displaying Ms. Chapman. It would be hard to impress me now Discovery

Maxim we thank you

Today is my day off. Do I want to to go fishing or to the range? Maybe a drive to the lake? So many options.

Too many choices

Barry and Eric's 5 must haves

I really have a lot of respect for these two guys. they have a no nonsense opinion to firearms and handling of them. They also prove over and over you don't need a ton of cash to achieve superior firepower. I would have to agree with their choices. What do you think?

Just a quick thought from Thomas Jefferson

I do not take a single newspaper, nor read one a month, and I feel myself infinitely the happier for it. - Thomas Jefferson

Thursday's Babe Pic's

Here is some winners no particular order

 Who doesn't like Kate Upton?

Preakness pic's

Here is the way I see the finish to lay out at the Preakness.  The Bookies are still saying Bodemeister. I just don't see this horse going the extra distance.
